[CES 2014] Sony Announces The Xperia Z1 Compact, A 4.3-inch Android Smartphone

Sony Xperia Z1 is a flagship android smartphone from Sony announced a couple of months ago. At this CES event, Sony announced Xperia Z1 compact.

Don't get confused with the name as it is still a flagship android
smartphone. Compact only stands for its size which is 4.3-inches while
the remaining specs are the same.

Sony Xperia Z1 compact
has got a 4.3-inch 720p display, quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2GB
RAM, 16GB nternal storage and a 20MP camera. All this is powered by a
2,300mAh battery. The device is also water proof and will be available
in four colors.

the design shows edge to edge screen with new and better U. New UI means improved TouchWiz 5. The device is running Android 4.4 and instead of using notifications on the lock screen, the screen now has new interactive notifications. You can get the idea by seeing the rendered pictures of Samsung Galaxy S5 gallery.

Nokia Normandy" May Be The Company's First Android Smartphone

Above is the picture of handset that is triggering
minds of most of the tech geeks. It is rumoured that the device shown
above code name: "Normandy" is the Nokia's first handset to run Android
OS.

The mystery phone very much looks like an Asha device but is it running Android?. First of all, this project was started before Microsoft bought Nokia. The handset was meant to replace a low-end Asha phone. Now the chances are verylikey that Microsoft may cancel this project. But if after all the rumours come true, it will be a very low-end smartphone even lacking GPS(but that's not obvious).

The above picture was leaked by @eveleaks. If it  is "Normady" then, according to The Verge report, they have been told by several anonymous sources that the Normandy is in fact running Android.

Normandy features a highly customized android version just like Fire OS running on Amazon's Kindle series.
This allows users to experience android in Nokia's ecosystem. But
still, running an android OS means access to millions of Apps on Google
Play. That's enough for an entry level phone.

I don't think that Microsoft will allow the handset to run Android but if it does, it is coming in early 2014.

The wooden back is not available yet but it's appearing on Moto maker. According to Motorola, these backs wont ship until January. The backs are only available online.

"Moto X with Bamboo will be available online only*, for $199 with a new two-year contract with Verizon, AT&T and Sprint, or unlocked with no contract for as little as $0 down with special financing terms."

Wooden back adds a nice touch to moto X and you should definitely give it a go if you like to try new things.
