Device protection on Android phones with new version 5.1 Lollipop

Yet you can enjoy hard reset but in the future  no more!!!

Today, Google quietly announced a new version of Android in a small blog post. The new version, Android 5.1, is still called Lollipop, but it will come with a few new features including Device Protection, and HD voice, where your device supports it.
Device Protection will allow a user to remotely lock their device if it gets lost or stolen. This will
prevent your phone from being used until you log in with your Google account. This protection even remains in place if the person who takes your phone performs a factory reset. These are just a few of the new features that will come in Android 5.1, though Google hasn't released a full changelog. The update is rolling out to certain Nexus devices today, though presumably it will still take a few weeks or months to get to most other devices.

Samsung suspends the Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S III

Today Samsung UK officially responded to requests for an official statement saying the following:
"As we are currently investigating the reported issues with Galaxy S3 4.3 Jelly Bean update, the upgrading service has been temporarily suspended. We are committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience, and will ensure to resume the upgrading service at the earliest possibility."
So, the Galaxy S III update has been pulled from Kies and the OTA service has been suspended. We hope Samsung resolves this issues quickly and resumes the update rollout shortly. The Galaxy S III skipped Android 4.2.2 and its owners are waiting a year to get a newer Android version since the official 4.1 Jelly Bean ROM was released in 2012.

Android 4.3 update for AT&T Galaxy S4 reportedly pulled

Things don’t seem to be going too well for Samsung’s Android 4.3 updates for various devices. After the Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S III was put on hold because of major issues, it looks like AT&T might have done the same for the 4.3 update for the Galaxy S4. According to Android Police, the update has been pulled and AT&T is currently investigating some unmentioned issues, and is looking with “potential improvements” with Samsung.
This update was supposed to include Galaxy Gear support, but it looks like the Note 3 will be the only device on AT&T with support for Samsung's smart watch for a bit longer. So if you haven't received the update yet, you probably won't be getting it for a while yet.

Android 4.3 may cause major issues on Galaxy S III

It looks like Samsung may have skipped properly testing the Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S III in a bid to get it out there as soon as possible. The update, which started rolling out to unlocked international variants of the S III today and to Vodafone-branded handsets a few days ago, is causing all sorts of issues for users, and as a result Samsung might have pulled the plug and paused its rollout.
The issues the Android 4.3 update has introduced are pretty major, including reduced battery life, app crashes, inconsistent Wi-Fi connections, laggy performance, and even complete lockups of the device on the lockscreen that can only be solved by pulling out and reinserting of the battery. The folks over at Phones Review report that the update was initially available on their UK handset, but after ignoring it and attempting to update the next day, their S III simply said the latest updates were installed, which is a pretty good indication that the update might have been pulled by Samsung, and the Note II update might be put on hold as well, considering how similar it is to the S III in both software and hardware.
